    Choose Your Weapon

Sun, 23 Jun 2019 16:41:00 EST, by dB

The controls for this sci-fi fighting game #FutureFighter have been made easy. There are no complex D-pad/joystick motions that you have to perform and time with specific button inputs nor are there any long lists of combinations to memorize. It is just you and your imagination that you need to get into your character's fighting style and craft your approach, but you will need a medium to trans... read more

What good is creating all these awesome colors for your sci-fi characters in Future Fighter (TM) if you cannot save the darn things? To put it in coding terms that you fighting gamers out there will appreciate: var_NoSaving!=good. That is why I built the ability to save any color you make and then load it later, including on game restart. You even have twenty slots to save them in, so make all ... read more

One of the best parts about setting Future Fighter (TM) in a sci-fi universe is the special effects. Being that it is a fighting game makes it all the better because we get to incorporate those effects and technologies into our characters' fighting styles. It makes for some kick-ass battles for sure, but it also looks brilliant on screen. I am going to give you a small glimpse into this world t... read more

MISSION

dB in PersonMotion capturing my 35 years of martial arts and sparring into the sci-fi fighting game #FutureFighter. I create fighting styles based on body type, armor and mentality and then motion capture them into the game where I program cool accompanying tech and teach the AI how to use each style as I would in the real world. When you play #FutureFighter, you face the mind of a martial artist.

I am also transferring the energy of the fight into the music of #FutureFighter where I am writing intense electronic music tracks to fuel your high-energy matches. You can find these featured in the posts on my email list and on social media where I show you how the game is developed and give insights into the martial arts.

When I am not developing, I work as a diagnostic pathologist at a local hospital in my home state of West Virginia where I also am the medical director of the laboratory.
