Stick It!

Who says stick figures can't get it done for video game art? Well, these might not be exactly like the stick figures we drew as kids, but these wire frames are the handiest thing when producing real-life fighting moves for my sci-fi fighting game, Future Fighter (TM). They are graphical displays of the motion capture data from the martial arts moves I perform. I then take that data and apply it to the characters in the game, like you see when the video starts.
The move in the video is a jumping knee kick. It's extremely damaging because the jumping motion allows you to throw your body weight into a rapid-fire kick. You even get to take advantage of the downward gravity vector to increase the damage done by throwing the kick as you descend. Aiming for a weak part of the body like the outside of the knee produces an injury that football players get when they get clipped called the "unhappy triad." You can look that up in a medical dictionary some time for the specifics but the bottom line is bad ligament and cartilage damage when you stick it!
